About Christene Fenemore

Hi, I’m Christine, and welcome! For me, this isn’t just a job—it’s a passion. My journey began when I was a little girl, inspired by my father’s encouragement as he saw me helping others in need. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to assisting others in various ways.

My Journey

My professional path started in mental health while I was pursuing my undergraduate degree in Psychological Counselling at UNISA. I began by volunteering as a trauma counsellor at a local police station and teaching English online. Later, I worked at a gym, sharing my enthusiasm for wellness with members. After completing my degree in 2014, I joined a prominent rehabilitation center as a assistant and support counsellor, where I gained extensive experience in group therapy and eventually became the coordinator of their secondary care facility. During this time, I also earned my Clinical Social Work Honours degree specializing in Substance Abuse from UCT.

In 2017, I  pursued a Psychology Honours Degree at The South African College of Applied Psychology, where I completed an internship as a school counsellor. This experience deepened my ability to connect with adolescents.

After graduating, I continued with the NPO where I interned, taking on the role of Victim Assistance Officer. I worked with the forensic unit at a government hospital, providing counselling and support to survivors of rape.

Since moving, I’ve been actively involved in my local community, giving talks on various topics at neighborhood events. I’m passionate about learning and am always engaged in new courses or study programs. Most recently, I completed a course on People Management: Recruiting and Retaining Top Talent. I’m continually expanding my knowledge and expertise to better serve those I support.

I am registered with the HPCSA as a registered counsellor and with BAPSA as an addiction professional counsellor. My mission is to make mental health support accessible to all. Please don’t let financial concerns stop you from reaching out; I offer sliding-scale fees for eligible clients. With me, you receive unmatched availability.

My Approach
